I have to say, this product has impressed me. Let’s start by saying my cat Oscar, he’s a lovely fellow – but a little lazy and a very short attention span. I was a little hesitant to invest in a toy which cost more than a few dollars at first, but once I bought this home… it’s more than paid back its worth in entertainment value to my cat.
The Catit Sense range of products, by Hagen, is designed to tantalise the senses and intrigue the cat to come back and play again more. This product in particular revolves around a large race track, which caries in height so the ball speeds up and slows down in many places. It has a cover over the track, with lots of paw sized access holes for the cats to bat at the ball as it passes. The ball itself is fun – it remains powered off until its roughly batted around the race track, then it lights up with little lasers.
Needless to say, cats adore the little laser ball, and Oscar my cat comes back time and time again to play with this. One great thing that I have noticed is that I have now had mine for over a year and the battery in the laser ball is still going strong! Talk about value for money – most other toys get ignored or pushed underneath the couch in 0.2 seconds, but this has been a years enjoyment (so far) for my cat.
Only thing to note is that when you assemble it the first time make sure to click the pieces together when they lock. I didn’t realise this, and of course within a few moments of looking away and looking back I had found my cat had dismantled it and claimed the laser ball as his own. *sigh. Naughty boy!
I’d recommend trying it out, and if you’re looking for options, theres also these smaller tracks, or a complete senses package if you want to go all out! Click the links below to learn more about these products:
